PNBOA Mission
Since 1961 the Pacific Northwest Basketball Officials Association, (PNBOA) has provided qualified referees for male youth, adult, recreation, and school basketball games in the greater Puget Sound Region.
In July of 2017, the PNBOA and the Seattle Officials-Womens Basketball (SOWB) merged into one Association. The PNBOA is now one dynamic Association providing officiating services to both male and female youth, adult, recreation and school basketball games in the region.
Our Members are Independent Contractors who officiate over 30,000 Seattle area school and recreation game assignments each year. We provide ongoing referee training, scholarships, and advancement opportunities for our Members. The PNBOA is a Member of the Washington Officials Association (WOA), sanctioned by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA).
We can help you become, hire, or train to be a basketball referee. The experience and training of a PNBOA Official makes a difference, both on and off the court!
